Welcome to the Border Collie Epilepsy Database

*This is the second edition of a US based border collie epilepsy database. Please see the note at the bottom of the page for further information regarding this topic.*

Dogs pictured on this site are not assumed to be epileptic. Photos were volunteered by owners.
Idiopathic epilepsy is a hereditary disease that can occur in border collies.

This website was created to provide a searchable database of epileptic border collies so that both breeders and owners of border collies can research and make informed decisions.

Dogs can be viewed individually from their pages linked on the main database page. You can also search terms such as dog names or registration numbers by using the search box found at the top right of each page. It is a good idea to search using both registration number and name separately as many dogs have commonly used names, may be cross registered, and may be known by different names or numbers depending on the registry.

*The owner of the original BC Epilepsy Database paused the site in 2022 with very few changes being made since. The original site is still available and can be found on the links page. This database was created as a continuation to maintain the recording of epileptic dogs. All US, Canadian, and UK based dogs were transferred from the original site to this one. Some foreign dogs were not transferred but I am in the process of moving them over still. US/Canadian/UK dogs are high priority as they are the least represented in other databases*
